What the county currently identifies
The county's residential seawall page lists drawings/plans/engineering, a site plan and a survey. It states that drawings and plans must be signed and sealed, with format requirements that differ for in-person and online applications.
Do not assume county approval is the only approval
Work in or over surface waters, wetlands, state-owned submerged lands or federal jurisdiction may involve FDEP, a water management district or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Environmental resources, mangroves and waterward work can change the path.
Useful questions for the county and design team
- Is the property within Charlotte County jurisdiction or another authority?
- Is the proposed work repair, replacement or new construction?
- Will the wall stay in the same location and footprint?
- Which sealed drawings, survey information and site details are required?
- Which separate environmental or federal authorizations apply?
- Are docks, lifts, utilities or related structures part of the same permit scope?
A permit is not a design warranty
Agency approval confirms compliance with the reviewed requirements. It does not replace the owner's responsibility to select qualified professionals and obtain a site-appropriate design and contract.
