Variables that can reverse the result

A system that is economical on an accessible canal lot may become difficult on a constrained parcel. A corrosion-resistant face may still use metal anchors. A living shoreline may fit a sheltered bay edge but not a high retained grade beside a pool. A strong wall can still fail if drainage and soil-retention details are poor.

Compare complete systems, not nouns

Require each proposal to state the design basis, wall height, embedment, anchor system, cap, joint/filter treatment, drainage, access method, demolition, permits, engineering, site restoration and exclusions.
